 Halloween Makeup Ideas

Halloween is just around the corner, so I decided to bring you some make-up looks for the much-anticipated 31st! Some costumes I’ll be introducing includes the recent fad of  Disney Princesses (yes, it’s not just for little girls anymore!), the slightly creepy yet intriguing Dolly Toy Soldier, and the ever-popular Gothic Vampire.

While many popular Disney Princesses are widely-seen during Halloween, one of the favorite princess looks is probably Princess Jasmine. Many tutorials have popped up recently, teaching us how to imitate this exotic character with the help of make-up. Promise of dope2111 shows us her take on Jasmine.

She points out that the use of a dramatic winged liner is the most important thing in capturing the look of this confident princess, so don’t be afraid to use a heavier hand. Have fun exaggerating and experimenting with the eyeliner to find the best shape to compliment your eyes! Remember to put on a slightly heavier foundation to get that beautiful “princess” complexion.

Products I recommend:bareMinerals Bare Tutorials 'Eyeliner

Let’s be real: no one’s grip is rock steady. But with four simple eyeliner looks, easy-to-follow steps and foolproof techniques, this collection has you covered. Whether you choose soft, classic, wet line or winged definition, it’s got all the products and tools to help you achieve flawless results. For day, evening and every important minute in between… these fine lines will define you beautifully.

TEMPTU AIRpod Foundation

The feather-light TEMPTU AIRpod Foundation delivers a truly flawless finish that’s instantly radiant, seamlessly blended and absolutely luminous. It is designed to survive backstage conditions, creates a feather-light, soft-focus finish that lasts all day.

You can also pair your costume with some fabulous teal nail polish to complete the overall look. I suggest Anna Sui’s Nail Color N, #100 Deco Blue that has a nice sparkle without being over the top.

Another great look you can modify to work for you is Jen of Frmheadtotoe’s Dolly Toy Soldier look. The thing I love the most about this is the versatility of it. You don’t have to copy all of the steps but you can take bits and pieces and make the look your own.

The main features you should keep for the Dolly look are make-up for your eyes, cheeks, and overall face. The eyeliner should be crisp and defined to imitate that flawless doll look. Of course, remember to apply the falsies on the upper edge of the eyeliner you’ve drawn because that will dramatically enlarge your eyes. You probably don’t need to make your blush as dramatic as hers, but it’s nice to have a brighter than usual flush of color on your face. Blend out the edge of the circles to follow your cheekbones. To imitate a doll’s porcelain skin, use a heavier foundation than usual to cover up your blemishes and imperfections.

Products I recommend:Disney Ariel Lash Kit 3

The perfect Lash Kit for a Princess.

NYX Rouge Cream Blush, Red Cheeks

This one is excellent. It is very concentrated so you need very little to get a sheer glow of color.

I think that since your outfit will be pretty colorful and busy, it’s best to keep your nails simple. A great idea is painting an intricate tuxedo design on a nail on each hand while the other nails can be a solid color. Here’s a tutorial you can follow:

The last look I’m going to cover is the Seductive Vampire as demonstrated by Michelle of Michelle Phan in her tutorial. Vampire looks and costumes have been around for a really long time, but they’ve been made extra popular by the Twilight franchise. Whether you love it or hate it, you still have to admit its influence!

The key features to this look are sculpted facial features, flawless pale skin, rustic eyes, and defined lips. Use an eyeshadow that’s two times darker than your skin tone and apply it to the outer ridges of your nose. Blend thoroughly and then highlight your nose bridge with a white shadow. Apply a powder foundation on top of your lightest foundation to achieve a flawless pale skin tone. Finish with a white translucent powder to set your foundation so that it’ll last longer. The most important tip for the eyes is applying a rustic color, which will give an illusion of bloodshot eyes. Build up the depth with darker colors like brown and black. Finally, define your lips with either a concealer or lip liner. Remember to enhance your cupid’s bow since that’s what gives the illusion of fuller lips!

Products I recommend:Photogenic Lumessence Lime Smoothing Makeup Ivoire4(n)

Master the power of light and reveal a flawless, photo-finished complexion that’s aglow with youthful radiance. This fluid foundation visibly smoothes away fine lines, pores and imperfections in a flash, thanks to Lancôme’s breakthrough Photonic Network.

NYX HD Studio Photogenic Finishing Powder, Translucent Finish

Don’t let the white color turn you off. This 100% pure mineral silica finishing powder is perfect for setting your foundation or wearing alone. Softens the appearance of imperfections and evens out the complexion. Provides a more long-lasting and matte finish over foundation. The luminous white powder goes on neutral and works on all skin tones. It leaves your skin looking radiant and luminous.

Coastal Scents 88 Color Palette, Warm

The warm palette is a beautiful palette filled with matte, shimmer, smokey, and neutral shadows. Colors contained are in silver blues, camo greens, earthy peach & stone, rich plums, and many different shades of brown.

Yves Saint Laurent Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Volupte Lipstick SPF 15 - #17 Red Muse, .14 oz

An ultra smooth & creamy lipstick that gives a fluid veil of radiant strong color to lips. Makes lips look plumped satiny luminous & sexy. Long wearing & comfortable to wear.

Complete this Seductive Vampire look by painting your nails with OPI Nail Polish Canberra’t Without You and add a lace nail design on top using Konad Stamping Nail Art Image Plates. It’s quick, easy, and classy!

I just suggested some common Halloween make-up ideas but feel free to experiment and transform any of these looks into one that’s truly your own!

Have any of these looks inspired you? What are you planning to be this Halloween? I’d love to hear from you!
